Our accomplishments in the last 20 years
This list is not all what we have done but it gives you an idea.
- we gave around 35 schools eductional games, books, toys, cuddles, clothing for parents etc.
- supported a poor family in Wadduwa by giving the children clothes, toys, shoes and money.
- gave approx.30 boxes of warm clothes to a monk near Nuwara Eliya which he will distribute to people in need.
- provide clothes, shoes, new cups, plates, posters and educational materials to Lewella children’s home for mentally retarded boys.
- provided musical instruments, maths games, and sport equipment to Lewella from money donated by the Ark, a primary school in Heemstede The Netherlands. - painted the horrible bathroom at Lewella. This was a big project. It took us 6 days and cost 150 euro which was funded by the Ark. As well as the playground with traditional playground markings.
- providing on every visit a game for the children of the Providence Home. This home is run by father Kenneth (died). Last time we gave a doll and a car to every girl and boy. Another time we gave a ball to the boys and a dance stick for the girls. The 25 boys and 25 girls stay here so they can do their school and will be looked after.
- started to help an orphanage with 30 girls from the ages of 5 to 20. We helped mainly with food . We gave the girls pockemoney, we ate a chocolate cake together. We talked in english (tried) and gave them throughout the years, parfume, soap, shampoo, towel pads, gel pens, rubbers, lipsticks, chocolate bars, things for in their hair, fabric etc
- The R.K. Ark, a primary school in Heemstede, supported and so renovated a school in the jungle near Kandy. Because of the money given a playground was built toilets renewed, library built, educational materials were bought and shed was built and the water pipes were done for the whole school
- we supported 4 homes for at least 5 years.
- we helped about 15 primary schools with playground, toilet and white boards.
- more than 50 children up till now left school with an education because of our sponsor projects
- we helped an autistic school by placing a toilet. In 2013 we gave containers a curtain and special scissors
- we helped Singitha for many years. ( a home) . We gave a washing machine, a little tike car (100 euros), lots of clothing, outside play materials, crickets sets etc.
- we helped Serevena boys home by giving them over the last 4 years 20 cupboards for the childrens belongings In 2013 we gave shoes.
- we gave information books to the people working in Yale park. Their books were destroyed after the Tsunami.
- we gave one family a roof for their house and another family windows.
- we helped an boy to go to school for his further studies because het was so bright.
- we gave Wettewa school posters, feel books, reading books. flashcards ,english games.
- we gave Edelweiss nursery flashcards, teacherbooks and games.
- we gave Bandula school toys, educational materials.
- Dharmasoka school in Kandy got whiteboards, english books,posters, shoes, music instruments, computer parts and they got a shower/toilet for the teachers.
- we gave altogether around 10 cupboards to schools put their given educational materials in.
- provided 4 schools with around 12 tricycles.
- matresses and pillows for Y4Y-projects.
- 50 bikes for the East.
- we pay the electricity for the nursery school in the East. Painted the walls and decorated the outside walls with animals. All eductional materials and art were given by us.
- 3 typical Sri -Lankan instruments and drums for several schools.
- We gave money for a well. Before this time the oldest boys of this school had to walk 1 kilometer with heavy barrels of water which they got from another well far away he school.
- We gave a village in Mahaoya area solar panels as there is no electricity is this area. The families were chosen by the chief. We gave food parcels the year afterwards.
- we gave 18 uniforms to a school for homeless kids in Kandy
- we gave 12 families food for 3 months
- we gave tricycles and toys for chidren in a hospital.
- we gave paper shredders and candle moulds to a school for disabled children.
- we gave tables to a nursery school so children could work on tables.
- a water project in Trinco (water from the source to the school).
- new pipes for the water project.
- 2 libraries refurbished and furnished.
- 200 boxes of educational materials, clothing and consumables sent to Sri Lanka.
- a family with a child with cancer financially helped.
- provided 50 families with food parcels for 3 months.
- we bought 15 new hockey sticks for a school.
- 2 hockey teams have received new shirts for the matches.
- a cupboard for educational materials in Vaviniya.
- a playground for a school in the mountains.
- materials for outdoor games like balls etc.
- a helicopter fan for the ceiling.
- dolls and prams for every new nursery school.
- a new slide for a school.
- warm baby hats for new born children.
- pens, pencils and notebooks for many children so they can attend school.
- goalkeeper outfit for hockey.
- 3 schools received second-hand hockey sticks, equipment and clothing.
